doctor
Does anyone know where the fuel pump relay is located on an 86 XT Turbo 5 speed 4WD? The fuel pump only gets voltage (12V) when the starter is engaged. Also, do you know if the coolant temperture switch is suppose to have voltage going to it? The Haynes Manual says its suppose to have voltage to it, but mine shows none and the restistance is open. I tried to trace the wires back to the computer, but cannot find where they connect to the computer. Thanks, for any assistance!
Partsman
My NAPA computer says the FP relay is "behind the instrument panel." Man, that sure narrows it down! Sorry I can't help more!

MilesFox
the fuel pump will cycle on for a few seconds when you turn the car on. then, from there, it takes a pulse signal from the distributor to keep it on, hence having voltage when cranking i would say the pump circuit is fine, look more into the thermo switch as a culprit
