DRKSIDExrs
I am trying to remove the A/C compressor to look at the Heater bypass hose cause I think it has sprung a leak. I have the alternator off I have removed the three bolts that everyone else said to remove but it still wont budge. I have removed the bolt below the alternator. The bolt at the back of the compressor and the long bolt behind the belt tensioner between the pulley's I made a quick shutterfly website with a picture which might help. http://carsforchris.shutterfly.com/ Thanks in advance Chris

Gloyale
Thanks for the advice.......But I think I have that bolt out.....Not sure I have taken a picture of the bolt I think your talking about. I will post it on the link above shortly Thanks Chris There is a 12mm long head bolt that is part of the A/C tensioner on some systems. that isn't the one I am talking about. This one has a 14mm, long head. bolted through lower front of bracket into the motor. The other *regular* 14mm head bolt to it's left can be simply loosened, not removed. The bracket has a notch there that fits right over the bolt not a hole.
msteel
I don't think you want to remove the bolt that is circled in that picture. I believe it helps hold one of the A/C hoses onto the compressor. If you remove the hose you will lose refrigerant and the system will need recharged. Sounds like you are trying to get to the bypass hose that comes off the water pump. I have replaced that hose without taking off the A/C bracket. But it might have been while replacing the water pump. If you do not know where it is leaking, also check: * Under the spare tire and you will see the heater hoses going from under the intake manifold through the firewall. * There is also a small hose on the right hand (passenger) side of the engine that is easy to miss. DRKSIDExrs
I have both the 12mm and 14mm bolts off.....The 12mm held on the adjuster bracket and the 14mm was behind it and I have unbolted it. As for the top circle the bolt is actually behind that one down the backside of the compressor. I havent had a chance to look at it today but I couldn't see any more bolts and am pretty lost as of where to even look next. Sorry to be such a PITA its just really frustrating me. Thanks to all those who have tried to help. Chris

Did you get the regular 14 mm head bolt that is below the compressor, bolted to front of motor? The one I said can be loosened not totally removed? It is the farthest thing to the left(looking from front) on the lower part of the bracket
DRKSIDExrs
I have updated the picture on the website linked in the above post. I hope if I detail what bolts I have removed it might help someone to tell me what I am missing. 1. Bolt on back of compressor bracket. 2. Bolt under alternator. (Only one you can really see in the picture) 3. 14mm bolt in picture on website. This was removed after I a long 12mm on the tensioner bracket off. I really couldn't see what it held on but nothing came off when it was removed. I am really lost on this thing and am trying to do a favor for a friend. My only problem she has a little girl and really needs this thing back asap so any help you have would be awesome. I have looked at this thing for almost an hour and felt around with my hands to find other bolts. I cant seem to find any. Anyone please help. Gloyale
There is another bolt under the Compressor. To the LEFT side of the compressor, straight down between the PS pump and the compressor. it's the one I mentioned can be loosened and and the bracket slips out. It is not circled in your picture so I am assuming you missed it.
markjw
Yeah,I just did this a couple times. Gloyale is telling you where the last bolt is. Far to the left. Almost under the PS pump. You have to feel for it. You really can't see it. Just loosen it,thou. Don't remove it. And lift the pump straight up.
