Greetings all........ a few questions on a 98 impreza L 2.2 , 98,000 mi

1. ( gates. com ) site that sells timing belts says that model year is

a non interference engine. I thought I read on here that it was.

Comments?

2. Any help on instructions to replace the instrament bulbs behind the

gas and temp gauges? I wanna see my gas guage in the dark.

I know ive seen great help on legacy heating and cooling gauges on here,

with pics and all.

3. My inside trunk release handle ( the one with the icon on the floor

broke ) Any good sites to find a replacement handle?

Thanks for all the comments!!!

just search USMB for info like that and disregard the incorrect gates info. your engine is an interference engine.

Yup, as grossgary said, most of what you need to know is right here on USMB--you just have to dig a little, keep reading and researching. "Search is your friend!"

For instance there's a thread active right now that might help you get to your gauge lights:

Then, when you get hung up or absolutely don't understand, by all means ask questions.

Good luck.

Have to pull the cluster to get to them. Not terrible, but not the most fun job ever.

Dealership is the only source for interior stuff like that. Or a junk yard but you won't find many 98's. A few, but not many. You could call around and see what you can find but I know when I bought a replacement trunk handle for my 91 it was only like $25 brand new from the dealer.
