strut bushing part numbers

Recommended Posts

The air struts and non-air struts have different part numbers. Was this an air strut?

*** Edit *** Looks like this is a non-air suspension part number. I can't seem to find the air suspension numbers.

Thanks for checking abe!

Okay, the Subaru sites all say "Excluding air suspension" and the ones I had at home I *thought* looked slightly different. Though it does seem dumb to design them completely different from a manufacturing stand point.

But the only parts listing we have at Subaruxt.com does seem to *suggest* (but it isn't specific - it doesn't differentiate non-air and air, only lists one set of part numbers, but *shows* an air strut in the picture, but doesn't show any bushings - though they are in the "price list".

sound confusing? it is! it *suggests* they are:

21029GA020

21029GA030

  • 2 weeks later...

Those part numbers are for the non-air suspension bushings and Subaru didn't even get it right. They came into today and were wrong.

Did some digging and came up with these which should hopefully be right:

Rear air strut top mount upper bushing: 21047GA870

Rear air strut top mount lower bushing: 21029GA050

Hi,

I have an xt parts catalog , the upper shows: till 12-86= 21029ga030,

after 1-87= 21047ga870.

the lower shows: 21029ga020.

Hope this helps some.

I realize no one will probably ever need these but I'll post since it was such a pain. Finally the real answer now that I have these crackers in hand.

21047GA870 is actually a kit - it includes both bushings on the top for the rear air struts. And it's only $3.48 for both bushings?!

The other part number "lower" listed above is actually not either one, it's the very bottom bushing where the strut bolts to the control arm/hub assembly.

That lower bushing which attaches to the control arm/hub assembly would be the same for all struts, coil over or air suspension.
