Drill out, tap, Heli-coil and replace 10x1.25 exhaust stud holes... Re-stud (now I have more then one per side ) and install new gaskets using the brass nuts the new stud kit came with.....Now I have Brass nuts

Don't they clang when you walk?? :Flame:

Ordered a replacement coil for the 87 Brat: Initially went with the B&A coil from Amazon (see link above), but it came dented and also has a statement on the case "use with a resistor"; not sure about this, so will return. Just ordered this Hitachi coil below after browsing for alternatives. The Amazon application guide does not list it for the Brat, but cross checking other sites indicates that it should be a suitable OEM equivalent replacement. As a side, after I replaced the fuel hoses and filters this past weekend, the Brat has started the first time during the past couple of days.

I was out horsing around in the mud and snow in my GL, and the exhaust kept getting louder and louder...got home and found the right side pipe going into the Y was cracked about 3/4 around, and it had blown out my plug where the o2 sensor used to be. took the pipes off, got out the ol' handy dandy mig welder and got it all tightened up.

I bought 3 brats about 6 yrs ago. built one. kinda lol. I bought a chevy s10 so that I could work on the brat but never had the money. My s10 just died so I sold it. bought this 98 legacy with a 2.2 and 5spd awd. Started taking the ej22 out today.
