iceageg
Photos, please! we love subaru photos here. As requested. Here she is the night I picked her up. This picture makes her look much cleaner than she is. A solid "10 footer" because the color helps hide her blemishes. She's solid but has some rust to deal with and the sun has taken it's toll on the hood and roof. A solid start for a slow build rolling project. <<Edit>> Replaced the horribly destroyed original front seats. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/160561-project-ruby-sue-86-hatch/ Edited September 21, 2016 by iceageg

iceageg
Battery, terminals and ground cable. All badly needed replaced. Since then, new valve cover gaskets. No new spots since. Very nice. Edited October 18, 2016 by iceageg
1 Lucky Texan
03 H6 OBW got; oil&filter change, drain&fill trans, drain coolant, changed the 3 big hoses from the rad , 13 years old - seemed like they could last a few more years but, I already bought the parts - not sorry I did it. Used Zerex Asian coolant. Inspected other stuff. I might order the long hose going to the trans coil in the radiator, it has a lot of small cracks where it makes a severe bend. Wonder how much trans fluid will come out if you remove that hose?
Kwiknez
Thanks to Machineit I was able to try out a new carb to see if it fixes the hesitation problem, well it definitely helped compare to way it was before. I am thinking that cat is pretty plugged up preventing good flow. Soon will have new cat and see.

jmoss5723
Changed 2 ball joints on the 2002 OBW. What a terrible job that was! It did eliminate the vibration in the steering wheel from 50-65mph, though Fully stripped a wrecked 2005 Forester of all useful parts so that I can scrap the shell. Pulling the 4EAT by yourself in the rain with the car on a trailer and barely enough clearance to get it out is no trivial task!
superooo
Fi swap into my 87 hatch almost done, new plugs gapped to 044, 8mm msd wires, super stock coil, new disty cap and rotor, aftermarket coolant oil pressure and voltage guages hooked up, new water pump, oil change (i like royal purp, any opinions i havent heard on it? And what oil do yall run in winter?) Ummmm im sure i forgot something but she is coming together

Loyale 2.7 Turbo
... i like royal purp, any opinions i havent heard on it? And what oil do yall run in winter? ... Royal Purple is Amazing, and Expensive; as far as I've read. Never tested it in person, but here you can download a Comparison chart, done with lab tests, at the end of this article, which also might enlighten your path, to choose the proper SAE weight oil for your Subie's engine, during winter times; according to a chart, depending on the climate in your area: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/126284-how-to-determine-which-is-the-best-motor-oil-for-your-car/ Kind Regards. MR_Loyale
I got my other Loyale sedan out for winter. Nothing wrong with it during summer, it just had winter tires and in Washington you cannot drive with winter tires in the summer. Had to charge the battery though, It seems kind of weak so I will probably replace it next weekend. I hate letting my cars sit for long periods as that hurts them to just sit.
MR_Loyale
Got my BRAT bumper back from the chrome platers today - whoo! Nice. Is it considered rude to ask how much it cost to do that?
iceageg
New oil pump and blasted all of the debris out of the radiator fins. While I had it off i also removed about 50 pounds of road grime off the back side of the crank pulley. An exaggeration to be sure but there was an amazing amount of caked on oil and road grime. MR_Loyale
This weekend I finally got to the HVAC controls on the red sedan. They never wanted tokeep air on the windshield or go to heat. They would just go to themiddle vents. So either it was the control unit, lines or flapper valvesdeeper into the dash. I pulled the main cover around the cluster andtook the vacuum lines off. I had vacuum to the unit, I could feel itwith my hand by removing the unmarked tube. I then put the vac line upto the #2 hose and it flipped the air, so I know the switching unit isbad. Off to the JY to get one.

fwd_gl
Got cut off while driving the other day resulting in some front end damage, managed to pull some of the damage out using a tow rope and a hammer. Major props to @TheLoyale for the front end bits! First shake down run with the front back together and the alternator seized snapping the belt, found one the next morning off an ea82 at the local junkyard for $17! Still lots to do on this lil lady but I can't get enough of my first subaru!
