My first car, 8 years ago, was a 1987 Subaru STD Hatch, 1.6l CARB, fwd 4spd. It was a stripped down base model and I have never seen another. Nor can I find Pics of one on Google. Mine had round 7" headlights and was white. Well I had some pics of it a while ago but they were lost on a computer drive that died (stupid maxtor 20gig) and I would like to show my fiance (another soob nut) exactly what I'm talking about. Does anyone own one? I want some pics, also might be willing to buy one if the price is right.:)

Yes you'll stiil see them around. I owned an '85 bought it new and used it as a 100 mile per day commuter. My father in law drove it from Delaware to Seattle in 1988 and we finally sold it locally since it wasn't appropriate for my work needs. Great little car.

my first soob was a 1980 std hatch. It was 4 wheel drive and had square headlights! I think after that year they always had round headlights and were fwd, but a I most certainly could be wrong about that. I saw one other 1980 std that was identicle to mine being used as a runaround at a junkyard. I still see later models showing up at jy's from time to time.

The STD came in both 4 speed FWD, and 4 speed, single range, 4WD. They were made from 80 to 89 along with the DL's and GL's. Early models differed in the front headlights/grill just as the GL's and DL's did in 80/81. After that they adopted the single sealed beam round headlights and the DL's had the single square's while the GL's sported the dual square's.
